The beach was packed…

The beach was packed, every inch of sand covered by umbrellas, sunburned shoulders, and one guy still bragging it “wasn’t that hot.” Maya walked through the crowd clutching her surfboard, apologizing as she stepped on about 14 sandcastles and one very flat float flamingo. The chatter faded as she paddled past the swimmers, including a man wearing snorkel gear in knee deep water and doggy paddling like his life depended on it. A sudden wave rose behind her, higher than the rest, curling with wild energy and revealing a lost pair of sunglasses and someone’s jandals in its face. She caught it perfectly, gliding along its face while a kid on a surf board accidentally outpaced her and asked if she was “still learning.” When she reached the shore again, even the birds seemed to cheer, mostly because she finally dropped the fries they had been stalking for about twenty minutes.

10T English Novel Study Hawksaw Ridge

In English we are reading Hawksaw Ridge.

In a paragraph describe a character who was or was not a positive role model.

An important person in the novel Hacksaw Ridge is Desmond doss. Because he was the first conscientious objector to receive the U.S. Medal of Honor, awarded for his extraordinary bravery as a combat medic during World War II. Doss refused to carry a weapon due to his religious beliefs as a Seventh-day Adventist but repeatedly risked his life to save wounded soldiers, most notably rescuing an estimated 75 men under intense enemy fire during the Battle of Okinawa.

Movie review – Mowgli the legend of the jungle

For the past few weeks we have been doing a Movie review first we watched a movie and then we had to answer questions basically doing a review of the story.

Heres mine

Mowgli is a fantastic movie that truly captures the essence of the jungle and Mowgli’s journey. The film skilfully portrays the complexities of Mowgli’s character, torn between his human upbringing and his wild instincts. The emotional depth of the story shines through as Mowgli faces challenges and discovers his true identity. The visual effects are stunning, bringing the jungle and its inhabitants to life in a way that draws viewers into Mowgli’s world. The relationships he forms with the animals, particularly Baloo and Bagheera, add layers of warmth and wisdom to the narrative. Overall, “Mowgli” is a gripping and visually stunning adaptation that offers a fresh perspective on a beloved classic, making it a must-watch for those who enjoy tales of adventure, friendship, and self-discovery.

Film study

For the past three weeks we have been doing Film studies. We were doing like movie shots and we had to find photos that matched the text, My highlight of this unit was finding the different photos for the texts because I could see other photos that I hadn’t realise that were in the actual movie that in watched. Something I struggled with trying to understand text and trying to find the shot that I had to find. I really enjoyed it
